This is a Chopped Cheese meets a Primanti Brothers Sandwich.
The coleslaw recipe I used is from here: https://recipefaire.com/Recipes/Recipes/CopycatPrimantiBrothersColeSlaw.aspx
Sandwich Filling Recipe:
1/2 Lb Ground Beef
4 to 5 slices of Cooper Sharp American or Regular American
Lawry's Seasoned Salt
French Fries (Frozen or Fresh - whichever style of fries you prefer)
Sliced Raw Onion
Bread: 1 Large long roll
Spicy Burger Sauce Ingredients
1/3 Cup Mayo
1 Tsp Yellow Mustard
1 Tsp Ketchup
1 Tsp Hot Pepper Spread
1/2 Tsp White Wine Vinegar
Onion Powder and Paprika to taste
Coleslaw Ingredients:
1 lb of shredded cabbage or cole slaw mix
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup oil
Fresh ground pepper to taste
Coleslaw Directions
Step 1:
Combine the cabbage, sugar, salt and celery seed in a colander set over a medium bowl. Let stand at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours; the cabbage will be wilted (about 4 cups total).
Step 2:
Discard the draining liquid in the bowl; rinse and dry the bowl, then transfer the wilted cabbage to the bowl. Add the oil and vinegar; toss to coat. Season with pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Spicy Burger Sauce Directions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
French Fries
Prepare these shortly before making the meat since the meat will only take a few minutes and leave them in the oven over 200F to keep warm.
Chopped Cheese filling
Over very high heat, smash burger meat like you would for a smashburger, let sit for a few seconds until you see it turning brown and developing fond. Sprinkle seasoned salt and stir the meat until completely brown. Lay cheese slices over the meat for a few second until you see them start to melt then stir together.
Assemble Sandwich
On one side spread sauce and cover with onions. On the other side of the bread add the coleslaw. Layer the meat on the sauce sauce and fries on the other. Close sandwich and enjoy!
