This savory bread pudding is a great side dish for dinner, especially meat dishes. I enjoyed mine with braised tri tip and gravy. I had a bunch of leftover bread.
1 loaf of bread
2 Cups Milk
2 Cups Heavy Cream
5 Eggs
3 Yolks
3/4 Cup Grated Parmigiano Reggiano
1/4 Extra parm for sprinkling
Step 1:
Cut up or break apart bread into small chunks. Combine all other ingredients in a large bowl then add bread. Toss bread and submerge. Cover and let sit for half hour.
Step 2:
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish and place bread mixture into the pan, then sprinkle with extra cheese. Bake 45-60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Step 3:
Allow to cool before slicing.
